Bellapierre Australia's 2010 Blog launch !!!
June 26th, 2010Is mineral makeup suitable for combination skin?
August 11th, 2010Bellapierre Mineral make-up is made up of all natural ingredients and don’t consist of all those fragrance, chemicals and dyes which make it a perfect makeup for combination skin, where the skin actually benefits from the natural ingredients such as Zinc and Mica, which have helped with the natural look of my skin. Natural cosmetic options have given me a flawless all over cover without the heavy feel of make up on my face.
Combination skins types benefit from the loose powder form of mineral makeup and I have found Bellapierre has worked wonders for me. I no longer need to apply moisturiser, then a liquid foundation followed by a powder. Today I simply moisturise and apply my Bellapierre mineral makeup. I feel it’s balanced out my T-Zone while balancing other areas of my face where the natural powder absorbs the oil in the oily areas of my skin. I have enjoyed the change from applying makeup with my fingers to applying Bellapierre Mineral makeup with the makeup brush. I have found it a lot more practical, less messy and my skin prefers it, and I find it less irritating and abrasive to my sensitive skin.
Bellapierres’ loose powder mineral makeup formulations come in a small pot like container and are applied with a fluffy face brush. This face brush brush is a densely bristled brush that applies face makeup, giving a better coverage than a traditional face makeup brush.
Bellapierres’ loose and pressed powder mineral makeup will give combination skin a light, natural finish, as if you have naturally beautiful and flawless skin. Areas of the skin that have excess shine will be made more matte by the powder formulation, and the powder will help to give the skin a balanced look overall. The benefits of loose and pressed powder mineral makeup for combination skin include a matte effect for areas with excess shine, a balancing effect for the skin overall, a natural looking finish and a makeup product that is all natural and free of irritating ingredients.
The range of shades Bellapierre offers is vast and suitable for all ages and skin types.

There are 10 different colour and complexion foundations to suit every face in the planet, including yours.
1 Ultra is for a really fair skinned people, those with skins that burn easily in the sun. Use if your skin is fair with a white under tone. Rather than pink or a honey undertone.
2 Ivory is the foundation for very fair skinned people with honey or sun kissed skin.
3 Latte is for fair skin people with a pink undertone.
4 Cinnamon is our most popular foundation, it’s for fair skinned people who every so often like to have a bit of sun and have a tan or it’s for people who have medium to light skin colour.
5 Nutmeg is also a very popular foundation, it’s for fair skinned people who like bit more of a tan or active people who spend time outdoors. It also suits people with beautiful medium skin tones.
6 Maple Is also for people who like wearing umber 5 Nutmeg at certain times of the year a colour with bit more depth. Because you so lucky you turn easily with even little sun exposure. Maple is also for people with naturally slightly darker than medium skin.
7 Brown Sugar is for light medium dark skin it comes in 2 different tonal types. The first has a more golden honey under tone. The second has a milk chocolate under tone.
8 Cafe is for people with medium dark skin with pink under tone.
9 Chocolate Truffle is for people with dark skin with chocolate under tones but without a pink or golden undertone.
10 Double Cocoa is for people with very dark chocolate under tone, and is our darkest colour with greatest depth.
The Bellapierre foundation range, will flawlessly blend with you natural skin colour. So you don’t get the nasty make up line or difference between face and neck that other foundations would give.
Bellapierre 100% natural mineral make up gives you the best natural foundation choices for your skin.
It is very import to apply the foundation correctly for best results. So look at my other post on ‘How to use brushes’ for some extra advice on how to get things right.
How to best use make-up brushes
July 22nd, 2010There are four main makeup brushes, each is for a different purpose and is applied differently. The four brushes are: Foundation, Concealler, Blush and Bronzer.
Step 1: Using the Foundation brush
Hold the brush like you would a pen or pencil when you are writing. This way you will get the most control and precisely apply the brush. Place the foundation on a level surface. Gently tap the brush into the surface of the foundation powder. Then turn the brush upside down. Being careful not to spill too much powder. Then with the brush bristles pointing towards the ceiling tap the base of the wooden handle against you table so that the powder falls along each of the highest quality natural sable hair. Back towards the table. This allows the powder to be evenly distributed throughout the brush head. You then take the brush and gently stroke (not too hard) in a circular motion all over your face. Starting near the chin and going clockwise towards your cheek, then up over the eyes. And then down the other side of the face. Then you come back and do the middle. The circles would be about the size of a tea saucer. You keep doing this process until you get the desired foundation coverage. And takes only a few seconds after a little practice.
Step 2: Using the Concealer brush
to apply more foundation to any places that still need it. Use the same process as with the foundation brush. But remember because this brush is smaller you use much smaller circles and go around any creases or change in direction of skin surface. Such as where the nose meets the cheek and the chin meets the cheeks. Use the same process as with the foundation brush. But remember because this brush is smaller you use much smaller circles and go around any creases or change in direction of skin surface. Such as where the nose meets the cheek and the chin meets the cheeks. You are really using a finer brush to get to places that the broad brush doesn’t get to.
The concealer brush is the baby of the four. It is one of my favourite brushes. It gives me the look I am after.
Step 3: Using the Blush brush
The Blush brush is the second largest, it is slightly smaller than the foundation brush. It has an angled surface. Again using the brush like a pen you tap into the blush powder. Turn the brush upside down and then with the bristles pointing towards the ceiling you tap the handle. This distributes the powder evenly. Holding the brush against the lower edge of your cheek, below the cheekbone, brush outwards and towards your ear. The powder is now deposited where you need it. We however need to blend it in with the foundation to get a natural look. Grab the foundation brush again & tap it upside down and brush in a circular motion the full area of your cheek. This will make an even flawless look.
Step 4: Bronzer/fan brush.
This is the last step. The bronzer gives you that amazing glow. To get the power on the brush you use a different method to the above three steps. The bronzer brush is wide like a fan. Hold the brush at a slight angle to the table top. Like you would use a spoon or a fork. You gently tap into the bronzer powder. Now you don’t turn this brush upside down. You gently raise the tip of the brush about a centimetre and gentle tap it with the index or pointing finger. This reduces the amount of powder on the brush. And allows you to apply it evenly.
If you are applying for night wear. You still tap the cheeks like noted above but you also tap the forehead, end of nose and end of chin. And then blend evenly with the foundation brush.
This will give you flawless perfection when using Bella Pierre Mineral Makeup.
Using these tips will really help you to get the look that you are after. I know from personal experience that thousands of people have been amazed with the benefits of using these steps.
nano particles
July 21st, 2010Do any Bellapierre products contain nano particles?
A recent report indicated that 8/10 high-end cosmetic brands contained some form of nano particles in their concealers and foundations alarmed consumers everywhere.
We are proud to say that Bellapierre Cosmetics does not use nano particles in any of the products in our range.
There are two kinds of Titanium Dioxide used in cosmetics and following extensive research in this area, we are extremely confident about the superior quality and safety of the non-nano sized ingredients used in our products.
Bellapierre’s Titanium Dioxide is considered fine with the particles between 1 and 2 microns. As a nano or ultra fine particle is measured at less than 0.1 microns (100 nanometres), our ingredients are well above the nano particle threshold and cannot under any circumstances penetrate the skin.
To further set your mind at rest, we also do not use penetration enhancers such as ethanol (alcohol) which promotes the uptake of chemicals in the skin, and, our non-nano sized Titanium Dioxide is uncoated and free of silicone or dimethicone (silicone derived emollients) which coat the skin, trapping anything beneath it, while inhibiting the skin’s natural ability to breathe.
Currently, cosmetic companies/manufacturers are not obliged to include nano particles on the label or provide current safety data, so consumers are effectively denied the right to make informed choices.
We appreciate all your questions and your ongoing feedback and support because it is consumer and responsible and ethical cosmetics companies who will continue to ensure that we are not sacrificing our health and wellbeing for beauty and that our products and services continue to meet the highest standard of excellence.
mineral make-up VS traditional makeup
July 21st, 2010This week we are discussing mineral make-up versus traditional make-up, From flat, thick pancake make-up to the delicate finish of mineral powder, cosmetics have come a long way in a century. While great strides have been made in liquid and traditional powder make-up, most women would agree that mineral make-up not only looks more natural, it is better for their skin.
I remember the first time I tried mineral foundation. I was having a course of laser resurfacing and wondering how I was going to walk home with a red, splotchy face. But before I left, the makeup artist brushed a little mineral powder on my face – and that was my “Eureka” moment. Not only did this small application cover all the redness, it caused no irritation to my skin. I marched straight back the next day and bought my own powder and a brush, and I have never looked back.
In doing so, I joined the mineral powder revolution. Conventional foundation is made with 90 per cent fillers and 10 per cent colour pigment. Talc, oil, preservatives, dye and fragrances are the leading causes of breakouts and skin irritation – so why would you put that on your skin?
Mineral make-up uses all natural ingredients, mined from the earth and treated to get it into a form that will go on your face. Mineral powders are non-comedogenic – which means they won’t clog your pores, your skin can breathe and toxins can find their way out.
Unlike traditional make-up, which goops into all those fine lines and imperfections in your skin, mineral powder is so fine it will sit on the skin and not in your lines. It also deflects light, which is good for hiding imperfections.
Women with combination skin – oily, dry or both in different places – usually go through having to find the right make-up that isn’t going to exacerbate the condition, often making expensive mistakes before they find the right one. The good news for combo-skin sufferers is that mineral make-up doesn’t dry out your skin but it still puts an end to shiny skin.
It can be used dry for those with oily skin and mixed with moisturiser for those with dry skin.
Mineral powder make-up applied with brushes won’t irritate sensitive or combination skin and evens out combination skin better than a sponge.
If you are going to use mineral-make-up dry, it’s important to use the right brush to get the best application and a flawless finish.
Whether you use pressed or loose powder, applying eye shadow or foundation, you need to have good quality brushes that pick up the fine powder and distribute it evenly, you need brushes that have soft bristles which are cut evenly and which don’t fall out all over your face.
That’s it for this week but keep an eye on our blog for more make-up news and tips. If you have any questions or comments, drop us a line.
